Thank You for Sharing in Our Spring Festival Events

Friends Across the Ages would like to thank everyone that helped make the Spring Festival possible. The volunteer appreciation party was the perfect wrap up for the week long Spring Festival events. At the volunteer appreciation party we had lots of food, a raffle drawing for gift cards, the new Friends t-shirts, and volunteer recognition awards (shown below). The annual volunteer appreciation party is a way for us to thank all the volunteers for the service they provide year long.

Celebrate National Nursing Home Week

The week of May 9-15^th is National Nursing Home Week and the theme is “Enriching Every Day.” The American Health Care Association chose this year’s theme to honor the volunteers who help enrich the lives of the nursing home residents. National Nursing Home Week is celebrated at many nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities across the nation. Check with nursing homes in your area to see how you can be a part of the celebration.

 

Parklands Nursing and Rehab is celebrating National Nursing Home Week with a weeklong lineup of special food and fun for the residents. Volunteers as well as anyone interested are encouraged to attend any or all of the events. If you would like to participate, please reply back for details.

Upcoming Events at Nursing Homes

Thursday, May 6th, 1:30 PM - Casino Time at Parklands -- A monthly event at Parklands Nursing and Rehab – By popular demand, Steve visits Parklands to deal blackjack and poker for the residents (who play for prizes).  He can always use some extra dealers, so let us know if you’d like to come join the fun!

 

Thursday, May 20th, 1:30PM - “Storytellers Society” at Parklands- These group gatherings are a wonderful way to share, reminisce and truly get to know the residents at Parklands Nursing and Rehab.

 

Thursday, May 27th, 2:30 PM - Birthday Celebration -- Help us wish a happy birthday to all residents of Parklands Nursing and Rehab with birthdays in May. Meet us in the dining room where we will have singing and cake. Volunteers are needed to help gather the residents together, serve the cake, sing, clean up, etc.  Do you play an instrument or have some other talent?  We are always looking for new entertainment for the party – let us know!
