SPRING FESTIVAL (March 26th-April 1st)

Have you ever thought about visiting a nursing home? Are you a regular Friends volunteer who wonders what visiting the other nursing homes might be like? Friends Across the Ages is hosting a weeklong festival of events at each of the nursing homes we serve. The festival will be held the week of March 26th-April 1st, with events at the various nursing homes we serve throughout the week.

We will conclude the festival with our annual Spring Volunteer Appreciation Party on Sunday, April 2nd from 1:00 -3:00pm, in the beautiful courtyard at Barr Systems. This party is our biggest event of the year so we encourage all volunteers, supporters, family and friends to join us!

See below for a full schedule of Spring Festival Events. Please contact for more information or to RSVP for any of the Spring Festival events.

Sunday, March 26th, 2:30 -3:30 PM– Karaoke Party at Park Meadows: Join the residents of Park Meadows for an afternoon of singing the hits from across the ages…oldies, not-so-oldies, and everything in between.  Even if you don’t want to sing, come cheer the singers on!

Monday, March 27th, 2:30-3:30 PM – “Bingo and Trivia” at Terrace Health and Rehab: We will be playing Bingo with the residents of Terrace Health and Rehab, and between Bingo games we will be throwing in a few trivia questions. We could really use some volunteers for this event in particular, so if you are available to help, please let us know!

Wednesday, March 29th, 10:00-11:30 AM – “Spring Break in Las Vegas” at Parklands: Come watch the Parklands Nursing and Rehab dining room transform into the casino floor at the MGM Grand. Volunteers will help deal the cards or team up with residents to play poker, blackjack, craps, roulette and other games for fun and prizes. No prior gambling experience required

Thursday, March 30th, 10:30 -11:30 AM– “Celebrate Spring” at NFRSC: Help bring the beauty of the season indoors to enjoy with the residents of North Florida Rehab and Specialty Care. We'll be helping the residents decorate flower pots for potted plants they can put in their rooms, or give away to loved ones. Special thanks to the home school families who come out to help with this event every year—it continues to be a special part of our Spring Festival.

Thursday, March 30th, 4:00-5:00 PM- Luau and BINGO at Gainesville Health Care Center: Palm trees and sandy beaches may be far away so we’re bringing the tropics to us for our annual spring festival event!  Please join us for an evening of island treats and BINGO with the residents of GHCC.

Saturday, April 2nd, 2:00- 3:30 PM—Spring Hat Decorating at Signature: Residents will come together to decorate hats for spring at Signature Health Care! Refreshments provided.

And the grand finale…

Sunday, April 2nd, 1:00-3:00pm— Volunteer Appreciation Party at Barr Systems: We would like to thank all of our volunteers (old and new) for their dedication and service at this, our biggest event of the year! Family and friends are welcome to join us for an afternoon of food, music, ice cream, and special recognitions for volunteers in the beautiful courtyard at Barr Systems. We will have something for all of our volunteers so please come if you can!

Wednesday, March 1st, 10:30 – 11:30 AM – “Storytellers’ Society” at Parklands – These monthly group gatherings are a wonderful way to share, reminisce, and truly get to know the residents at Parklands Nursing and Rehab.
