“STORIES FROM FRIENDS ACROSS THE AGES”

A Panel of Volunteers Share Their Stories

Tuesday, February 18, 2013 from 6-7:30pm

Headquarters Downtown Library, Meeting Room B

FREE and Open to the Public

Friends Across the Ages is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. As part of our ongoing celebrations, our Speaker Series presentation this time will be a panel of volunteers from over the years sharing their stories about what they have learned from volunteering, how it has impacted their lives, and any tips for new volunteers. If you have ever wanted to learn more about what it is like to volunteer at a nursing home, this is the perfect occasion for doing that. If you have been volunteering for awhile and want to hear what it is like for other volunteers, this is a great opportunity for that as well! If you simply like hearing stories about what we can learn from one another as human beings, across the boundaries of age, different backgrounds, disabilities, and more, this is also a wonderful chance to do that. All are welcome to come join us for this special evening of sharing, laughter, and learning.

Friends Across the Ages offers these Speaker Series presentations as a service to the community, FREE and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided. Please join us, and please help spread the word. If you are on facebook, you can find our event page here—a great way to let us know you are attending, and to invite your friends!

SAVE THE DATE!

FRIENDS ACROSS THE AGES
SPRING FESTIVAL (March 30th-April 5th)

and

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION PARTY (April 5th)

Our annual Spring Festival is coming up very soon! The festival will be held the week of March 30th-April 5th, with events at the various nursing homes we serve throughout the week. We will conclude the festival with our annual Spring Volunteer Appreciation Party on Saturday, April 5th from 2:30-4:30pm. The party is always a special time, held in the beautiful courtyard at Barr Systems with food, music, and special recognitions for volunteers. All members and supporters of Friends, plus family, friends, and anyone else who is interested are welcome and encouraged to attend this celebration, which is our biggest event of the year. All are welcome at any of the events of the Spring Festival as well. Watch our March “Nursing Home News” for more details on all of the events!
