CELEBRATE

NATIONAL NURSING HOME WEEK

The week of May 10-16th is National Nursing Home Week and the theme is “Nurturing a Love that Lasts.” As volunteers and donors, we have you to thank for creating a supportive and caring environment for nursing home residents.   No matter how big or small your time or monetary contribution is, you are making a difference in the lives of residents and helping to nurture a relationship that will benefit you both!

If you are a one-on-one volunteer, try to spend this week thanking the staff at the nursing home you visit.   Aside from our visits, they often have the most day-to-day interactions with the residents and could probably use a friendly smile and ‘thank you’ too!

THANK YOU FOR SHARING IN OUR

10TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

Our organization’s success wouldn’t be possible without two groups of people---our volunteers and the residents who allow us to share in their lives.   We wanted to thank both these groups as part of our 10th Anniversary.

Our residents enjoyed performances by singer Rickey Starr and many of them commented they couldn’t wait for him to come back again.  He performed classic songs that had the residents singing and dancing.  We are thrilled he was able to come and put on such a great show for our wonderful residents.

Our volunteers were invited to a picnic where we shared stories and thanked each volunteer for their hard work and dedication.  The food, music and company were a wonderful way to share an afternoon!
